You know it’s a Peugeot long before you see the badge; there’s just something about the shape that brings to mind a 206 or 208. But this is no city runaround, it’s a crossover that mixes spaciousness with style in an easy to afford package. What Car? awarded the 3008 their Car of the Year award in 2010 for the crossover category, referencing the perfect blend of hatchback, MPV and SUV that Peugeot have managed to combine in the car. Its 1.6 petrol engine and 2.0 diesel will cope with anything you throw at it, assisted by its front- or four-wheel drive options. There’s also a diesel-electric hybrid, the Hybrid4, which is supposed to deliver an incredible 74.3 mpg. One of the features most reviewers picked up on was its fantastic amount of storage space, including a very useful three-stage floor and different seat positions to maximise inside space. As it was introduced in 2009, second hand Peugeot 3008s are starting to appear on the market.
